BOREDOM. Since the behavior is specific to being crated - I am certain this is why. Try and give him a long walk before crating him for any length of time to burn off excess energy. In addition, Poodles are one of the smartest breeds of dogs. They require more stimulation then other breeds.

You should provide that stimulation through plenty of excercise (perhaps try having the dog run alongside while you bike or rollerblade) and providing something of interest while in the crate such as a Busy Buddy toy filled with peanut butter or another tasty treat.

Good luck!

use a little hydrogen peroxide on a q-tip and apply it to the stained area.  be sure to put enough on to saturate the stained hair/area.  be careful to not get it in the eyes.  it usually works very well.  wipe down or rinse the area after an hour or so.  do this everyday untill you achieve the results you are looking for.  then do it once a week for matience.  for more information just google it!

My dog is on the BARF (raw food) diet.  It has helped tremendously with his smelly ears, itchy dry skin and digestive system.  I pay a bit more for the frozen raw food at my local groomer, but it is well worth it!  I add in some rice or oatmeal as a filler twice a week.

It takes time for your puppy to realize what to do.  Just be patient.

Some stores will actually allow you to bring your dog inside with you to shop.  For example, Rural King, TLC and pet stores (Pet Co) enjoys having dogs.  This is great socialization!  Also our county 4-H dog club has gatherings in the park for everyone to enjoy.  Good Luck!

I just tried a few new chewing objects that are working out great! Antlerz and Canine Caviar!

As with all chew objects, make sure you supervise and tell us how your dogs like their chewys!
