How do I stop my poodle from having separation anxiety?

Hi my Mom has a poodle. He is 2 years old. He is with my Mom 24 hours a day accept when she leaves the house. Most of the time she takes him, but when she can't he goes into a deep depression. What do we do? My mom also gets upset knowing that he is upset. Help!!!!
